Marcus Capalbo, D.M.D.

Becoming a dentist was a lifelong dream for Dr. Marcus Capalbo. Growing up in a family of dentists, he always aspired to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, father and brothers. Dr. Marcus is the seventh dentist in his family. His father and uncle still practice in the office founded by his grandfather in Westerly, RI.

Dr. Marcus graduated from Providence College and then attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. At Tufts, he earned a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry degree. Following dental school, Dr. Marcus attended the University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine where he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the UConn Health Center Hospital. Dr. Marcus still continues his education, taking classes and attending seminars all over the country.

Dr. Marcus enjoys staying active and is an avid golfer and skier. His favorite way to spend free time is with his family at the beach. He is passionate about animals and enjoys cooking. Dr. Marcus and his wife just welcomed a baby girl this January.

Elliot Kimmel, D.D.S.

Dr. Elliot Kimmel is a well-loved dentist. He earned a Masters in Oral Biology before going to Loyola University in Maywood, Illinois to receive his Doctorate in Dental Surgery. He has been married to his lovely wife, Hinda, for over 47 years. They have two married sons and four grandchildren so far. Dr. Kimmel is semi-retired, working in our office a day and a half per week. During his free time, he enjoys traveling, especially tandem cycling trips, reading and adores spending time with his grandchildren.

Erin Ransom, D.M.D.

Dr. Erin Ransom is thoroughly excited to be returning home to Southeastern Connecticut to join the Thames River Dental Group. Dr. Ransom grew up in East Lyme where she attended high school. Following her education at the University of Notre Dame and employment with Teach for America for several years, she returned to Connecticut to attend dental school at the University of Connecticut. While at UConn, she received an award for achieving academic excellence and demonstrating outstanding leadership. She then elected to further her education by completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program to ensure that she is at the top of her field. Dr. Ransom has since moved to Gales Ferry, where she resides with her husband and two beautiful children.
